GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota sophomore Jimmy Evers and junior Erin Wysocki have been named to the 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country Team by a vote of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Evers is a physics major with a 3.96 cumulative grade-point average. Earlier this month he placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles at the 2014 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championship with a personal-record time of 14.57 seconds. He was also a member of UND’s 4x400 relay conference qualifier.

In the classroom, Evers was named to the 2013-14 Big Sky Conference Winter All-Academic Team and earned both winter and spring all-academic honors as a freshman in 2012-13. He was named to UND’s 2013 Fall and Spring Semester Dean’s Lists and made the 2013 Spring President’s Roll of Honor. Evers is also a recipient of the UND Presidential Scholarship.

Wysocki is a community nutrition major with a 3.69 grade-point average. She earned all-region and All-Big Sky Conference honors in cross country this past fall, the first runner in UND’s Division I era to achieve either accomplishment. Wysocki placed fifth at the Big Sky Championship and 25th at the 2013 NCAA Division I Midwest Regional. She also received 2013-14 Big Sky All-Academic honors in both cross country and indoor track and field and was a 2012-13 dual honoree in both indoor and outdoor track.

Evers and Wysocki, both products of Grand Forks, N.D., now advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced in June.
