GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota Cross Country Coach Dick Clay announced today the 2013 schedule for his men’s and women’s program, both of which enter their second year of competition in the Big Sky Conference.
The 2013 schedule includes one home meet – the 12th annual UND Ron Pynn Invitational at Ray Richards Golf Course – and four road meets prior to the Big Sky Championship. UND opens the season Aug. 30 at North Dakota State’s Bison Invitational, then travels to Minnesota’s Oz Memorial (Sept. 6), Iowa State’s Cyclone Classic (Sept. 21) and South Dakota State’s SDSU Classic (Oct. 4).
The Big Sky Championship is slated for Nov. 2 in Bozeman, Mont., followed by the NCAA Division I Midwest Regional Championship on Nov. 15 in Ames, Iowa.
Clay, who enters his 29th season at North Dakota in 2013, guided the women’s program to a seventh-place finish at the 2012 Big Sky Championship, while his men’s team placed eighth.
The men’s program made history last September when it was ranked 14th in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional rankings, UND’s first appearance in the DI cross country rankings.
