GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Juniors Erin Wysocki and Nate Peterson were named the University of North Dakota’s Most Valuable Runners today as head cross country coach Dick Clay announced his 2013 team award recipients.

Wysocki made history this fall when she earned All-Big Sky Conference and NCAA Division I All-Midwest Region honors, both firsts by a UND cross country runner. The Grand Forks, N.D., native placed fifth at the Big Sky Conference Championship and followed that up two weeks later with a 25th-place showing at the regional championship in Ames, Iowa.

Peterson, a team co-captain, was UND’s top performer at the 2013 Big Sky Conference Championship where he placed 28th with an 8K time of 26 minutes, 4 seconds. The Horace, N.D., native also highlighted his junior season with a sixth-place finish at UND’s Ron Pynn Invitational, where he ran a season-best time of 25 minutes, 39 seconds.
