GRAND FORKS, N.D.- The University of North Dakota baseball team helped spearhead a campaign to collect winter clothing for the Northlands Rescue Mission. Saturday, head coach Jeff Dodson and players helped deliver three truckloads of donations after collecting door-to-door and via a local drop-off site.

"Once again the winter clothing drive for the Northlands Rescue Mission was a huge success," said Dodson, whose team initiated a successful inaugural drive last year. "Our players collected and delivered three truckloads of clothes to the Mission which will hopefully help out people in need."

Players and coaches solicited donations all last week and last Saturday canvassed the greater Grand Forks area for donations to the clothing drive. The team then loaded trucks at Rydell Chevrolet with the donated materials.

"We have a lot of people working in the winter that need winter clothes," said Nicole Morris, the Mission's hospitality services facilitator. "It's great to be able to have as many items as we did and to put stuff out for them without having to purchase it."

UND baseball wishes to thank Rydell Chevrolet for again assisting in this effort. Anyone else wishing to donate other clothing items can drop them at Northlands Rescue Mission.
