MINNEAPOLIS-- Jeff Campbell's three-run homer helped propel UND past Mount Marty, 10-6 in the second game of a doubleheader Monday at the Metrodome. Alex Twenge pitched five innings to earn the win as UND swept both games to open its 2013 schedule.

A seven-run second inning powered North Dakota (2-0) in the second-game win. UND sent 10 batters to the plate in the frame. Ryan Reese's double drove home the first run, then an RBI groundout by Matt Wehrli produced the second run. With two down, Patrick Riewer and Kris Kwak each registered RBI knocks then Campbell homered to put UND comfortably in front.

UND added single unearned runs in the third and fourth to take a commanding 9-1 advantage through three-and-a-half innings. Mount Marty (0-2) got a pair of RBI doubles in the fifth and added two more runs in the sixth, but it was not enough as Twenge got the victory in his first career start in a UND uniform.

The sophomore righty scattered eight hits and four runs over five innings with a half-dozen strikeouts. Tyler Ruemmele pitched the final inning allowing a pair of runs with a walk and a strikeout.

Tyler Follis, who recorded a UND single-season best 74 hits last season, registered three hits in the nightcap to go along with two runs and an RBI. Jacob Threlkeld scored three runs on three walks and piled-up four steals in the game two victory to give him five for the doubleheader.

The two teams square off again Tuesday at the Metrodome with first pitch slated for 7:00 a.m.
