HOUSTON, Texas-- Host Houston Baptist scored five in the first inning and sustained a consistent offensive attack in a 19-4 win over North Dakota Sunday afternoon in the finale of a four-game Great West Conference series.

"We didn't play very well in any aspect of the game," UND head coach Jeff Dodson said. "We have to play better on Sunday in Great West Conference play to give us a chance to win the league title."

HBU (13-14-1, 3-1 GWC) got its five-spot in the first frame off Jeff Campbell, who was making his first appearance on the hill since March 9th in trying to come back from an injury. He was unable to get out of the first and the Huskies took a very early advantage.

Reid Jungling came on in relief and quieted the bats until the fourth inning, when the Huskies finally got to him, producing another five-run frame before posting a seven-spot in the fifth.

UND (10-12-1, 1-3 GWC) got a pair of runs in the seventh on a two-run pinch-hit triple by Zack Trygstad, scoring Riley Beck and Ryan Reese-- each of whom had two hits Sunday. Jacob Threlkeld and Daniel Lockhert each added a pair of hits as UND rapped-out 11 hits on the afternoon.

North Dakota will travel to Brookings, S.D. to battle South Dakota State Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference game set for a 3:00 p.m. first pitch.
