UND women's tennis falls to the Milwaukee Panthers

Des Moines, Iowa - The UND women's tennis team played in its first road match of the season Friday in Des Moines, Iowa, falling to Milwaukee by a score of 5-2.

Although the team lost, Head Coach Tom Wynne noticed improvement saying, "the girls are improving match by match and we are getting closer to turning it around."

Wisconsin-Milwaukee earned the doubles point. Junior Stephanie Petsis (Toronto, Ontario) and sophomore Callie Ronkowski (Grand Forks, N.D.) combined for a victory in No. 1 doubles defeating the Panther's Maddy Soule and Christina Colarossi by an 8-2 score.

Petsis and Ronkowski also earned victories in their singles play. Petsis knocked off Soule in No. 1 singles and Ronkowski beat Kelly Fritz in No. 2 singles with a score of 6-4, 6-2.

UND will return to action tomorrow morning when they take on Illinois-Chicago at 9 a.m. at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
