Portland, Ore. - The North Dakota women's tennis team was defeated by the Portland State Vikings by a score of 5-2 on Wednesday at the Peter W. Stott courts.
Portland State won all three doubles matches, earning the point. North Dakota had a close doubles match between sophomore Callie Ronkowski (Grand Forks, N.D.) and junior Stephanie Petsis (Toronto, Ontario) who were defeated in No. 1 doubles by Mandy Mallen and Marina Todd with an 8-6 score.
In singles play, UND had victories from Petsis and Ronkowski. Petsis defeated Mallen with 6-0, 6-1 scores in No. 1 singles. Ronkowski beat Todd in No. 2 singles, winning her first two sets 6-3, 6-1.
The team is idle until March 23 when it takes on Northern Arizona at the Choice Health and Fitness Center in a Big Sky Conference matchup.
