GRAND FORKS, N.D. --- The University of North Dakota women's tennis team is hosting its first Division I competition in program history this weekend including a pair of Big Sky Conference tilts.

UND will open the triangular tomorrow afternoon when it hosts the BSC's Montana at 1 p.m., then will play its second match of the day against the Summit League's South Dakota State at 8 p.m. and close out the weekend on Saturday hosting its second conference game against Montana State at 1 p.m.

All matches will be held at UND's new home at the Choice Health and Fitness Center and has free admission to the tennis center.

"We are excited about hosting our first Big Sky matches this weekend," Head coach Tom Wynne said. "The girls are all curious as to what's in store for them and it will give us a good barometer of what we will have to adapt to in the coming and future seasons."

Montana State and South Dakota State will play a nonconference match on Friday at 5 p.m. and Montana will battle the Jackrabbits at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The North Dakota women's team opened its season last Friday with 7-0 thrashing of Minnesota State-Moorhead where it didn't drop a single set.

Montana enters the year with an 0-2 record after being edged, 4-3, at Minnesota and dropping a 6-1 decision to Marquette.

This weekend's action will open the season for Montana State and South Dakota State is 0-2 with 7-0 and 4-3 losses to St. Louis and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, respectively.
