Idaho State defeats North Dakota 5-2

POCATELLO, Idaho – The University of North Dakota was defeated by Idaho State on Friday evening by a score of 5-2 in Big Sky Conference action at the Reed Gym.

Idaho State won the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. UND won No. 1 doubles as sophomore Callie Ronkowski (Grand Forks, N.D.) and junior Stephanie Petsis (Toronto, Ontario) teamed to defeat Marian Tangarife and Laura Theus by a score of 7-5.

In singles action, the North Dakota had victories from junior Stephanie Biehn (Sherburn, Minn.) and Ronkowski. Biehn defeated Svenja Tegtmeier in three sets in No. 3 singles.

In No. 2 singles, Ronkowski beat Kelsey Bacon by a score of 6-2, 6-3.

North Dakota will close out the regular season when it plays Weber State on Saturday, March 13 at 2 p.m.
