MOORHEAD, Minn. – A pair of throwers stood out for North Dakota today at the Cobber Duals, one winning her event and the other hitting an automatic qualifier for the Big Sky Conference Indoor Championship.

Sophomore Ke-Ke Burks was the event winner for UND, taking first place in the weight throw with a mark of 54 feet, 9 ½ inches. In the same event, teammate Molly Griep recorded a Big Sky automatic qualifier with her throw of 54-6 ½.

Burks had already hit an AQ in the weight throw in December at the Dakota Duals.

Griep was also the runner-up in the shot put with her mark of 44-6 ¾.

Burks and Griep had plenty of company at the top of the weight throw standings, where teammates Jayd Eggert and Katarina Reller placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

Another notable finish for UND included Alisha Lindsay’s first-place performance in the mile run. The freshman from Grand Forks ran a time of a 5 minutes, 27.68 seconds.
