Dan Brown joined the University of North Dakota volleyball program in the spring of 2010 as a full-time assistant coach and was elevated to associate head coach on Dec. 20, 2011. He has since helped guide the team to three consecutive Great West Conference Tournament championships and a pair of GWC regular season titles.
During the season, Brown is responsible for researching and preparing detailed scouting reports for upcoming opponents and serves as the defensive coordinator on game days.
Brown also serves as the recruiting coordinator and is the primary camp contact.
Brown spent the 2009 season as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Minnesota, where the Golden Gophers posted a 28-8 record and reached the NCAA Final Four.
Prior to joining the Gophers' staff, Brown served as the Under-15 Director of the Minnesota One Volleyball club team for eight years. In 2010, he led Minnesota One to a No. 10 national ranking.
He also spent three seasons as a varsity head coach at Bloomington Jefferson High School from 2003-05.
Brown received his bachelor's degree in elementary education from Minnesota State University, Mankato in May of 2009. He also has an associate degree in elementary education foundations from Normandale Community College.
He lives in Grand Forks with his wife, Nicole, and their 4-year-old lab, Ledson.
