GRAND FORKS, N.D. - University of North Dakota head women's volleyball coach Ashley Hardee announced today that Dan Brown has been elevated to the position of associate head coach. The primary camp contact and recruiting coordinator, Brown is heavily involved in preparing detailed scouting reports for upcoming opponents and serves as the defensive coordinator on game days.
"Dan has done a tremendous job for us in achieving our goals in the Great West Conference," Hardee said. "He has been a major factor in our ascent to become one of the Top 50 Division I volleyball programs in the country."
Brown joined the UND volleyball staff in 2010 as an assistant coach, and has since helped guide the team to two Great West Conference Tournament championships and a GWC regular season title.
In 2010, North Dakota claimed its second straight GWC regular season title and its second consecutive tournament title with a complete sweep over league opponents. In 2011, the team fell just one game short of the regular season title, but made quick work of the competition in the postseason to three peat as tournament champions.
North Dakota has finished each of the last three seasons with 20-plus win records - 26-6 (2009), 25-5 (2010), 26-5 (2011).
