After two seasons in the director of basketball operations position, Steve Grabowski was elevated to an assistant coaching position this past summer by head coach Brian Jones.
Grabowski joined the North Dakota staff in the summer of 2012 in the operations role. His primary responsibilities were to coordinate team travel and organize the team’s summer basketball camps, while also assisting in the area of NCAA compliance.
Grabowski’s work at UND is his first collegiate basketball experience away from Minot State University. The Minot, N.D., native played four seasons with the Beavers and spent the last seven seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater.
The Beavers advanced to the NAIA Division II National Tournament twice during his tenure and won the Dakota Athletic Conference regular season title once and tournament title twice. The Beavers advanced to DAK Tournament semifinals in five of their last six seasons in the league.
Grabowksi holds a pair of degrees from Minot State. He completed his bachelor’s degree in physical education in 2005 and finished his master’s degree in human performance and physical education in 2012.
