GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- Senior forward Madi Buck has been named to the CollegeSportsMadness.com Big Sky Preseason All-Conference First Team according to a recent article published on the website. Buck, an honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference last season, led UND in scoring and rebounding a season ago.

Buck led UND in scoring average (10.7 ppg) and rebounds per game (7.7 rpg) as a junior and goes into her senior campaign just 286 points shy of becoming the 29th member of UND's 1000-point club. She led UND in scoring on nine different occasions in 2012-13 including a 62-56 win at the University of Utah, one of the signature wins on North Dakota's schedule. In that game, the Bismarck, N.D. native scored 18 and had six rebounds and five blocks as UND earned the school's first win over a team from a power- six conference (Pac 12) and earned Big Sky Conference Player of the Week in the process.

Buck also poured-in a season-high 21 points and added 13 rebounds and five assists in a 73-63 win at arch-rival North Dakota State Nov. 30. It was the first of seven double-double performances for Buck.

She's joined on the first team by preseason player of the year D'shara Strange of Northern Colorado (who likely will redshirt the season) along with Sacramento State's Fantasia Hilliard, Eastern Washington Lexi Nelson and Portland State's Angela Misa. Montana head man Robin Selvig was named the coach of the year with Idaho State's Kyndall Adams garnering top freshman billing.

UND has begun its preseason practice leading up to its first of two exhibition games. North Dakota hosts Minnesota Crookston on Nov. 2 and Bemidji State on Nov. 5 in exhibitions before opening the regular season at Iowa State on Nov. 10.
