OGDEN, Utah-- University of North Dakota forward Madi Buck has been named the Big Sky Conference's Player of the Week following UND clinching at least a share of the league's regular season title on Saturday. It marks the second straight honor and league-high-tying third of the season for Buck.

Buck, a senior from Bismarck, N.D., led North Dakota to a pair of road wins as UND clinched at least a share of the Big Sky Conference’s regular-season title in its 62-57 win at Eastern Washington. For the week, Buck averaged 17.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 0.5 blocks.

Buck poured in 19 points in the Thursday blowout win at Portland State in a 73-51 North Dakota win.

She followed with 16 points and six rebounds in a 61-57 win at Eastern Washington, just the Eagles’ second home loss in the conference season. With UND nursing a one-point lead in the final minute, Buck stole a ball at the perimeter and finished the fast break at the other end to give UND a three-point lead to help ice the game.

North Dakota ends its regular season Thursday at Southern Utah and can earn the top seed in the conference tournament with a win. SUU will need a pair of wins this week along with some help elsewhere to claim hosting rights for the seven-team postseason tournament.
