ATLANTA-- The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced today the All-Region nominees for the 2014 WBCA Division I Coaches’ All-America Team. UND senior Madi Buck was one of four members among the Region 7 honorees.

Buck, the Big Sky Conference Most Valuable Player, led North Dakota to its first-ever league regular season co-championship, a conference tournament title and a berth in the NCAA Division I Tournament. She poured-in a team-high 16 points per game this season and added 7.3 rebounds to go over 1,200 points and 750 rebounds for her career.

She becomes the first All-Region honoree for North Dakota in its Division I era (since 2008). The Bismarck, N.D. native was a unanimous selection to the All-Big Sky Conference First Team this season and was also named to the conference's postseason all-tournament team.

The selection committee will select the 10-member WBCA Division I Coaches’ All-America Team from the 52 All-Region honorees listed below:

The selection committee uses an equation to determine a fair number of nominees from each region. The number of Division I institutions in each region is divided by the number of Division I institutions overall to determine a percentage for each region. This percentage is then multiplied by 52 (the total number of desired finalists) to get the number of finalists for each region.
The 2014 WBCA Division I Coaches’ All-America Team will be announced at 1:10 p.m. CT Saturday April 5, during NCAA Women’s Final Four Super Saturday festivities in Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
