GRAND FORKS, N.D.- The University of North Dakota women's basketball team will host an event with legendary coach and motivational speaker Don Meyer, Friday, Oct. 11 at 6:00 p.m. Meyer, who retired in 2010 as the winningest collegiate men's basketball coach (923 wins), was a longtime head coach at Lipscomb and Northern State University.

Coach Meyer—an ESPY award winner— has taught at basketball clinics in almost every state in the USA and has done several clinics overseas. For 19 years, the Don Meyer Coaching Academy was one of the most popular opportunities for coaches and young people to learn more about basketball and life. He specializes in teaching his philosophies of servant leadership to schools, athletic teams, church groups and businesses.

Neither a near-fatal car accident - which claimed most of a leg - nor a diagnosis of inoperable cancer could keep him away from the game he loves. His insights on leadership, spirituality, faith and work ethic are the centerpiece of his speeches which he makes to numerous groups and athletic teams across the country.

Meyer will speak at the Gorecki Center on UND's campus in front of the women's basketball team as well as local coaches, teams and basketball enthusiasts. The event is open to the public and admission is $10. Advance registration is requested due to space limitations. For more details or to register contact:
