GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- University of North Dakota head coach Ashley Hardee won his 100th career match as UND swept Eastern Washington, 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-21) to remain perfect in Big Sky Conference play. North Dakota extended its winning streak to eight with the win.

Hardee's achievement comes in just his fifth season on the UND bench, already fourth in program history for career wins. His 2013 team has found its groove, using a tournament win at Tulane in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Classic as the springboard for 11 wins in its last 12 matches.

Senior Ronni Munkeby killed the first 11 swings she took on the night as the offense pumped along. A half-dozen of those kills came in the first set that UND (12-7, 7-0 Big Sky) took rather easily at 25-15.

In the second frame, UND ran off six of the first seven points to take control. North Dakota remained in the driver's seat, leading 24-17, but had to fend off a furious EWU (6-12, 3-4) rally that saw five straight points before Lexi Robinson powered one down to close the set, 25-22.

The third set saw more of the same for North Dakota, hitting at a .321 clip with just four attack errors as the senior duo of Munkeby and Lisa Parlich combined for 27 kills on just 37 swings with only one error (.703 combined).

Parlich added four total blocks and junior Nikki Husfeldt generated 36 assists and seven digs in the win.

North Dakota hosts a big showdown with second-place Portland State Saturday at the Betty. First serve is slated for noon.

Notes: Hardee's 100th win came in just his 140th match, easily the best winning percentage (.714) among UND coaches all-time in the program's history ... He is fourth in total wins behind Lisa Kissee (137), Maria Bruggeman (124) and Carol Cooke (105) ... Munkeby tallied her 10th straight match of double-digit kills ... Munkeby is hitting .446 in seven home matches this season.
