GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The Fighting Sioux soccer program has announced the dates for its annual summer camps for 2012, including the Boys and Girls Evening Camp and the College ID Camp.
The first will be the UND Evening Soccer Camp held on May 14-16 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. daily. It is open for boys and girls between the ages of 5-13 and is designed to help improve technical abilities (dribbling, passing, heading, etc.) through exercises, games and contests.
The College ID Camp is a 3-day event from July 28-31 and offers the full UND soccer experience. This camp is open to any girls entering their freshmen year of high school or above.
This camp will allow the opportunity to develop skills through a high level of soccer training while experiencing the daily life of a UND student athlete. The training schedule is designed to prepare players to compete at the college level while experiencing many of the training techniques utilized by the UND women's soccer program.
Campers will be housed in the UND studend dormitories and experience the daily life of a North Dakota student-athlete.
The philosophy is to create a camp that is designed to help improve the basic skills of young soccer players with qualified instructors in a fun atmosphere.
These skills will be taught to the players through exciting exercises, games and contests from staff members comprised of the Fighting Sioux coaches along with current and former players.
