AUSTIN, Texas -- A freshman season to remember is in the books for North Dakota's D'Monte Farley, who completed the year today at the 2013 NCAA Division I Track and Field NCAA West Region Preliminary Championships.

A native of Cottage Grove, Minn., Farley completed in the triple jump today and finished with a mark of 13.13 meters (43'7").

Farley was one of UND's two men's competitors -- and the only freshman -- in the NCAA West Region Preliminaries, joining junior thrower Shawn Johnson, who competed in both the shot put and the discus.

Farley qualified for the NCAA West Region prelims when he recorded a mark of 14.97 meters at the Shamrock Invitational on March 13. He currently ranks second in the Big Sky Conference in the triple jump.
