GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- North Dakota senior thrower Brandon Quesenberry has been named Great West Conference Outdoor Track and Field Male Athlete of the Week.

Quesenberry, a senior from Billings, Mont., won the shot put and placed third in the hammer throw  last weekend at the UNC-Wilmington Seahawk Invitational at Wilmington, N.C.

His shot put mark of 51 feet, 8 1/4 inches, bested his nearest competitor by two feet and was the top mark in the GWC on the opening weekend of the outdoor season, while his hammer throw of 149 feet, 2 inches, was second-best in the GWC.
