Day two of The Rebel Games brought about a win and a loss for the University of North Dakota.

UND 5, Lehigh 3

North Dakota got a much-needed win when they outscored Lehigh University 5-3.

UND took a two run lead in the top of the fifth after Taylor Hansen (Chelsea, Mich.) singled to center field.  Nicole Babrowski (Oak Lawn, Ill.) reached first after a bunt, and the two girls both advanced a base on a passed ball. D Jantzer (Grants Pass, Ore.) singled to shortstop scoring Hansen and Babrowski.

Lehigh University answered back with three runs in the sixth inning.

North Dakota regained control of the lead in the seventh adding three runs to make it a 5-3 game. Amanda Johnson (Ashby, Minn.) reached first base on a fielder's choice, and was advanced to second by Hansen. Babrowski was walked and Cami Bennett (Grants Pass, Ore.) reached first base on an error. Johnson, Babrowski, and Bennett all ended up scoring.

"It was a very exciting game," head coach Eric Oakley said. "We gave up the lead late but fought back to get the runs we needed to seal the win. Key hits, good pitching, and solid defense all came together for a great team win."

The win was given to Caralyn Chewning (Willamina, Ore.) and the save was given to Michelle Frank (Chaska, Minn.).

UND 3, Akron 8

North Dakota fell to 3-12 in the season after an 8-3 loss against Akron on Sunday.

Akron took an early lead, scoring a run in the second and third inning. They then advanced to a 6-0 lead in the top of the fourth after scoring four runs.

UND answered back with two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Caralyn Chewning (Willamina, Ore.) was walked and Emily Bell (Elgin, Ill.) pinch-hit for Olsen. Bell singled to right field, advancing to second on the throw and advancing Chewning to third. Brittany Baker (Buena Park, Calif.) reached first on a fielder's choice, scoring Chewning. Johnson grounded out to shortstop, which allowed Bell to score.

North Dakota scored again in the fifth, reducing Akron's lead to three, after Babrowski was walked, was advanced to second on a wild pitch, and scored after Chewning singled to left center.

Akron secured the win after scoring two more runs in the top of the seventh to make it an 8-3 final score.

"We had a couple of misplays that cost us some runs, but otherwise a strong game," head coach Eric Oakley said. "Progress is being made in some key places."

UND has Monday off and will pick up play on Tuesday.
