KISSIMEE, FLORIDA --- The University of North Dakota softball team falls to both Utah Valley 4-3 and Butler 4-2 on the third day of The Rebel Games.

 

UND 3, Utah Valley 4

In the first game of the day, UND lost a tough battle to Utah Valley.

North Dakota took an early two-run lead in the top of the fourth after both Brittany Baker (Buena Park, Calif.) and Megan Keegan (Elk Grove, Minn.) hit home runs.

Utah Valley answered back in the bottom of the fourth with one run.

UND advanced their lead to two in the fifth after Cami Bennett (Grants Pass, Ore.) reached first base on an error, stole second, and was then hit home after D Jantzer (Grants Pass, Ore.) singled to right field.

Utah Valley quickly took the lead after scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth. UND was unable to regain the lead resulting in a 4-3 final score.

 

UND 2, Butler 4

In the second game of the day, UND softball fell to Butler 4-2.

Butler took a quick lead in the first inning, but UND quickly answered back after Nicole Babrowski (Oak Lawn, Ill.) reached first-base on an error by the pitcher. Bennett advanced to second after Cami Bennett (Grants Pass, Ore.) grounded out to third. D Jantzer (Grants Pass, Ore.) singled bringing home Bennett.

Butler managed to score a run in the third inning and a run in the fifth inning making it a 3-1 game.

Butler advanced their lead to three scoring a run in the sixth. UND tried to catch up but were only able to score one run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Brittany Baker (Buena Park, Calif.) singled and advanced to second after Megan Keegan (Elk Grove, Minn.) struck out. Emily Bell (Elgin, Ill.) singled and Baker advanced to third. Emma Gronseth (Forest Grove, Ore.) singled allowing Baker to score the final run of the game.

UND is 2-4 in the series.
