Kissimmee, Florida – The North Dakota women’s softball team began the fourth day of the Rebel Games with a 10-1 win over Rider. The team was defeated by Lehigh University by a score of 7-0 to close out the day.

UND 10, Rider 1

North Dakota won its third game in the spring break tournament defeating Rider by a score of 10-1 on March 15.

UND jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. Senior Cami Bennett (Grant Pass, Ore.) began the inning with a single to center field. Freshman Nicole Babrowski (Oak Lawn, Ill.) reached first on an error at third base, advancing Bennett to second.

Bennett scored the first run of the game when junior Caralyn Chewning (Willamina, Ore.) doubled. Babrowski and Chewning also scored during the inning.

Chewning held Rider scoreless through the first five innings. She gave up just one run and three hits over seven innings of work.

North Dakota added another three runs in the sixth inning. Babrowski began the inning with a double to left field. Junior D Jantzer (Grants Pass, Ore.) singled to shortstop to advance Babrowski. Chewning then reached on a fielder’s choice, scoring Babrowski.

Pinch runner senior Hannah Tometich (Aberdeen, Wash.) and Chewning also scored on the inning by a Rider error.

UND ended the game with a four-run seventh inning highlighted by senior Brittany Baker’s (Buena Park, Calif.) two-run homerun.

The team had eleven hits during the game. Chewning went 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBI and Bennett had three hits.

Lehigh 7, UND 0

UND fell in the second game of the day by a score of 7-0 against Lehigh University.

Lehigh started the game strong, scoring three runs in the first inning.

The Mountain Hawks also scored three runs in the third inning which included three doubles.

Lehigh added a run in the final inning with a home run by Kristin Taft.

Junior D Jantzer (Grants Pass, Ore.) had North Dakota’s only two hits with a single first and fourth innings.

Senior Abby Jo Tometich (Aberdeen, Wash.) pitch for the first 2.1 innings and senior Emma Gronseth (Forest Grove, Ore.) came into the game during the fourth inning and pitched for 4.2 innings.

North Dakota will close out the Rebel Games when they take on St. Peter’s and Wagner on March 16.
