OXBOW, N.D. - Senior Nick Schaefer (Grand Forks, N.D.) posted a career-low 220 (+4) at the Erv Kaiser Invitational, tying for second in the 54-hole event at the Oxbow Country Club. Schaefer's runner-up finish helped UND place fourth in the event with a team total of 909 (+45).

Manitobal held off tournament host North Dakota State by two strokes to claim the team title with an 885 (+21), while the Bison took silver with a 887 (+23). South Dakota maintained its two-stroke advantage on UND to take third, finishing with 907 (+43). Both UND and the Coyotes carded team scores of 302 (+14) on the final day.

Schaefer fired an even-par round of 72 on Tuesday to also post the best finish of his four-year career at UND. He finished the tournament with nine birdies and played the par 5's at four-under.

Sophomore Sean Halverson (Chanhassen, Minn.) also had the best finish of his collegiate tenure, tying for 15th with a score of 230 (+14). Halverson turned in his best round of the tournament, carding a 75 (+3) in his final 18 holes.

Senior Alex Robb (Chanhassen, Minn.) fired a 76 (+4) to place in a tie for 19th with a score of 232 (+16). Freshman Logan Bashaw (Byron, Minn.) tied for 25th (236; +20) after a final round 79 (+7).

Manitoba's Charlie Boyechko took medalist honors after holding off Schaefer and teammate Josh Wytinck by a stroke. He shot a 72 as well on Tuesday and had a 54-hole total of 219 (+3).
