Calhoun, La. - Senior Sean Halverson turned in his best round of the spring season on Monday in first-round play at the Wallace Jones Invitational. Halverson carded a 75 (+3) and backed it up with a 79 (+7) in his second round to pace the North Dakota men's golf team in the 54-hole tournament.

Halverson is tied for 24th in the individual standings, while junior Collin Lervick had a 36-hole total of 158 (+14) and is tied for 43rd.

Host Louisiana-Monroe tops the team leaderboard after 36 holes at the Southern Pines Golf Clbu in Calhoun, La. The Warhawks responded with a second-round 286 (-2) - the best of the day by any team - to grab a six-stroke lead on Arkansas-Little Rock (592, +16).

The Green and White put together a 36-hole total of 643 (+68). Sophomore Aaron Pulanco (165, +21) and freshman Tyler Kast (166, +22) also scored for UND on Monday.

Kast's six-shot improvement from round one to round two was the best of the day for UND, who wraps up play at the Wallace Jones Invitational with thrid-round play on Tuesday.
