Calhoun, La. - Freshman Daniel Sayler helped the North Dakota men's golf team post its lowest score of the Wallace Jones Invitational on Tuesday. Sayler carded a team-low 78 (+6), which was an 11-shot improvement from his second round score.

The Green and White ended the 54-hole event with a 318 (+30) as upperclassmen Sean Halverson and Collin Lervick both carded a 79 (+7) on the final day. Halverson was the top UND finisher, tying for 33rd with a three-round total of 233 (+17). 

Lervick tied for 45th with a 237 (+21), while Tyler Kast was third among the UND golfers with a 248 (+32). Kast and Halverson led the team with three birdies a piece in their final rounds, while Lervick and Sayler each had 10 pars.

Host Louisiana-Monroe held on to win the team title with a final round 284 (-4) at the Southern Pines Golf Club in Calhoun, La. The Warhawks (870, +6) extended their lead to 11 strokes on runner-up Arkansas-Little Rock (881, +17).

UND will return to action next Monday at the Arkansas State Red Wolves Intercollegiate in Jonesboro, Ark.
