GRAND FORKS, N.D. - University of North Dakota sophomore Tyler Monda has been named the UND men's golf team's Male Athlete of the Year, announced today by head coach Dan Frei.
Monda, a Brainerd, Minn., native, tied for 18th place at the 2010 America Sky Championship and was UND's top performer at five different tournaments this season.
Sophomore Matthew Wrolstad (Fargo, N.D.) was a dual award winner, earning Most Improved and Unsung Hero honors. Wrolstad was among the clubhouse leaders after the opening day of the America Sky Championship and eventually finished 17th.
Freshman Alex Robb (Chanhassen, Minn.) was named the team's Newcomer of the Year. Robb was UND's top performer at the America Sky Championship, where he led the field with a final-round 71 and finished the tournament in 15th place.
