Bakersfield, Calif. - The North Dakota men's golf team posted its best score of the CSUB Spring Invitational during Tuesday's third and final round at the Bakersfield Country Club with a 308 (+20). Senior Nick Schaefer and junior Sean Halverson each carded a 75 (+3) in their final 18 holes of the 54-hole event to pace the Green and White.

Schaefer's 75 moved him into a top 10 finish at ninth with a three-round total of 227 (+11), while Halverson tied for 17th at 236 (+20). The 75 equaled the low round of the season for Halverson, who has now concluded three of UND's six tournaments with that same score. Schaefer's top 10 finish was his fourth of the campaign.

Sophomore Collin Lervick finished one spot and five strokes ahead of Halverson in the individual standings with a 231 (+15). He fired a final round 77 (+5) as UND finished fourth in the five-team field.

Sonoma State rallied from eight-stroke deficit on the final day to move past host CSUB and win the team title with a 882 (+18). CSUB fell to second with a third-round total of 311 (+23).

Junior Joseph McNelis finished the tournament with a final round 77 for a three-round score of 242 (+26). He finished in a tie for 21st.
