Meadow Vista, Calif. - Junior Sean Halverson and sophomore Collin Lervick both turned in scores of 79 (+7) to lead the North Dakota men's golf team in opening round action at the Winchester Classic.

UC Santa Barbara was the only team to break par and leads the tournament after an opening-round 287 (-1). Host UC Davis is jus two shots back at 289 (+1).

UND opened with a 331 (+43) after junior Joseph McNellis added an 86 (+14) and senior Alex Robb carded an 87 (+15).

UND is only golfing with four players in the 54-hole event. Round two play is set for Saturday.
