MISSOULA, Mont. - North Dakota's trio of juniors Sam Saccoman, Ross Nelson and Kyle Economy led the men's cross country team to a third-place finish today at the Montana Invitational.

Saccoman, Nelson and Economy placed 13th, 14th and 16th, respectively, in the 8K race held at the UM Golf Course. Saccoman's time of 26:47.9 paced all UND runners, with Nelson (26:49.7) and Economy (26:59.2) right behind.

UND finished third in the team standings with 79 points.

Montana State (15 points) finished first, with the host Grizzlies (60) placing second, followed by Eastern Washington (102) in fourth.

Montana State's Cristian Soratos took medalist honors with a time of 25:04.9.

After a week off, UND will return to action on Oct. 13 when it hosts the Ron Pynn Invitational during Homecoming weekend.
