UND duo finishes just off the pace at SDSU Classic

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Junior Nate Peterson and senior Sam Saccoman paced the team today as the University of North Dakota competed at the SDSU Classic Cross Country Meet at Edgebrook Golf Course.

In a field of 134 runners, Peterson placed 20th and Saccoman finished 22nd. Peterson, who hails from Horace, N.D., ran the 8K course in 26 minutes, 22.86 seconds, while Saccoman, a native of Hibbing, Minn., clocked a time of 26:24.69.

The duo helped UND finish sixth among 11 teams.

South Dakota State won the meet behind medalist Trent Lusignan. He ran a time of 26:54.20.

UND will take a week off before hosting the annual UND Ron Pynn Invitational on Oct. 19 at Ray Richards Golf Course in Grand Forks.
