Grand Forks, N.D. – The University of North Dakota women’s hockey team announced its 2013-14 schedule today which is highlighted by 19 appearances at home at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.The 2013-14 schedule features 32 regular-season games.

UND will open its season with an exhibition game against the Pursuit of Excellence (Kelowna, British Columbia) at 7:07 p.m. on Sept. 27 at the REA.

The exhibition game will help prepare UND for its regular-season opener and the first series of a six-game home stand beginning with a nonconference series against Lindenwood (Oct. 4-5).  

UND’s lone other nonconference series will come on Dec. 6-7 when it heads to Potsdam, N.Y., to take on Clarkson who reached the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2012-13.

The first pair of Western Collegiate Hockey Association series will be on home ice as UND opens league play against Minnesota Duluth (Oct. 12-13) and Ohio State (Oct. 18-19). Conference rivals Wisconsin (Nov. 22-23), St. Cloud State (Jan. 17-18), Bemidji State (Jan. 24-25), Minnesota (Jan. 31-Feb. 1) and Minnesota State (Feb. 15-16) will also visit Ralph Engelstad Arena.

The first round of the WCHA playoffs will take place Feb. 28-March 2. The best-of-three series will be held at the home of the league’s top four seeds, with the winners of those series advancing to the WCHA Final Face-Off in Bemidji, Minn., March 7-8.

The top-four seeds selected for the NCAA Tournament field host a single-elimination quarterfinals matchup with the four winners advancing the NCAA Frozen Four. The 2014 NCAA Frozen Four is hosted by Quinnipiac and will take place at High Point Solutions Arena March 14-16.
