AMES, Iowa – Junior Erin Wysocki placed 24th today at the 2013 NCAA Division I Midwest Regional, becoming the first all-region performer in the University of North Dakota’s Division I era.

Wysocki, a native of Grand Forks, ran a personal-record 6K race of 21 minutes, 07.9 seconds at the Iowa State Cross Country Course. Closing out UND’s second Division I season in spectacular fashion, Wysocki and each of her six teammates all ran PR times by more than 40 seconds.

Host Iowa State captured its fourth consecutive regional women’s championship, placing five runners in the top 15. Sophomore Crystal Nelson won the race with a time of 20:12.6.

UND finished 24th in the team standings, outperforming Illinois-Chicago, Southeast Missouri State, Eastern Illinois, SIU-Edwardsville, Creighton and DePaul.

"I'm so proud of everyone," said UND cross country coach Dick Clay. "To do that in the last meet of the season at that high a level with those kinds of PRs -- and the whole team doing it together -- that says a lot.

"And they're all back (next season)."
