LAWRENCE, Kan.-- The University of North Dakota men's swimming and diving team fell 185-75 to Texas Christian while the UND women dropped decisions to TCU (208-51) and host Kansas (214-45) as action wrapped-up from a two-day double dual at Robinson Natitorium Saturday.

"We had some good swims but they were just few and far between today," UND head swimming coach Steve Parsons said. "On the men's side Aaron Chanas-LaRue capped off a great weekend of swimming.  He continues to improve and had a pretty impressive weekend. Aaron has been training well and it is showing in his swims.

"On the women's side Ali Church had a breakthrough swim in the 500 free, clocking a 5:14.72.  Just a great swim for her, we have been waiting for that swim and she finally put it together today.  Madeline Smith had another solid weekend of swims as well she finished the 100 fly with a time of 59.25.  I thought Cassie Walth had pretty good weekend, too.  She keeps improving in the 100 free with each meet.  There is still a lot of training left to do and we will get back to work on Monday."

Chanas-LaRue earned a pair of season-best times with his swims Saturday. He went 4:45.14 in the 500 free and swam the first leg of the 400 free relay. Also in the distance swims, Church was able to grab third place with her performance in the 500 free with Caitlin Quon and Kelsey Richels in fifth and sixth, respectively.

Smith's effort in the 100 butterfly (59.25) was good for fifth place. Austin Smith later had an impressive show in the 200 breaststroke, touching in 2:11.29 the second-best time in that race.

"Just a great effort by Rachael Waldbillig and it was great to see her have a really nice day on the boards," Parsons said of his divers. "Richard Eberle won the three-meter board and really ran away with it. It is great to see his hard work paying off."

Waldbillig took third from the one-meter board with a score of 232.25. Teammate Jennifer Anklan was seventh with a 215.40 showing.  Eberle won handily from the three-meter distance, outscoring the field with a 347.10. The closest competition was more than 48 points behind him and teammate Andrew Germain picked-up third with his 276.40.

UND will now prepare for the TYR Invite, a three-day event held at Northwestern University on Nov. 16-18.
