The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently announced its Scholar All-America Teams with both University of North Dakota men's and women's swimming and diving teams among the honorees.
The Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester/term and in the semester/term of the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
"What an honor for our swimming and diving program to have both the men’s and women’s teams recognized for their academic achievement," said UND Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services Amanda Hajdu. "It’s a great compliment to the outstanding athletic achievements made by the program this year, and represents true dedication to both the student and the athlete aspects of being a UND student-athlete."
The UND women's team ranked 33rd among all NCAA Division I programs with its 3.41 cumulative grade points average. The North Dakota men ranked 35th among men's teams with a 3.17 Fall cumulative GPA.
The College Swimming Coaches Association is the oldest coaches organization in America. In addition to Scholar All American Awards, the CSCAA recognizes All American Swimmers and Divers at the national championships every year.
