GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- University of North Dakota head swimming and diving coach Chris Maiello announced the captains for next season's team Monday. The team-voted leaders will front two teams loaded with talent returning in 2014-15 looking to build on a solid campaign this season. Maiello also announced eight more commitments to the program.

Juniors-to-be Courtney Funk and Cassie Walth have been named on the women's side while fellow juniors Ian Ballantyne and Colin MacQuarrie were elected captains on the men's side.

"It is with great excitement that we announce our team captains for next season," Maiello said. "We will miss this past season's team captains immensely, however, I am confident that these four individuals will continue to work hard toward our program's goals and lead our team to elite levels of success. We are excited about the direction of our program and these student-athletes can, and will lead from the front, academically, athletically and professionally. We can’t wait to get started next season.”
