COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-- The University of North Dakota swimming and diving teams wrapped-up a two-day meet at the U.S. Air Force Academy Saturday. The UND women split, winning 123-96 over Seattle and falling 122.50-93.50 to the host Falcons. The North Dakota men dropped decisions to host Air Force (178-43), Seattle (140-73) and Wyoming (177-44).

"Another solid day of racing by the women today," UND head coach Steve Parsons noted. "Kara Fisher swam great in the 50 free (24.60, 1st), we talked about a few adjustments from Friday night's race and she took those ideas and put together a really nice race. Kelsey Richels (11:12.47, 3rd) and Ali Church (11:21.32, 4th) had good swims in the 1000. Veronica Medon dug down to pull out a win in the 100 back (59.31). We talked about finishing that race with more legs and she did that really well today. Morgan Lynch had a nice weekend of swims and we got the chance to see her swim a couple of events she does not normally swim. All in all the women have a lot positives to take away from this weekend."

Lynch finished fourth in the 200 free (2:00.86) while Smith was eighth (2:05.33).  Medon also had a runner-up showing in the 100 fly, going 1:00.37. Fisher supplemented her win in the 50 free with a second place in the 100 free (54.05) with Richels in third (54.61).  Erin Grabanski was third in the 100 backstroke that Medon won.

Smith generated another top three finish for UND when she touched in third in the 500 free (5:27.40).  Church was in right behind her at 5:27.58 for fourth. Alexa Weyer was the top UND placer in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:10.96 time for third place. The 400 free relay squad ended the meet with a win in 3:38.99 (Richels, Medon, Fisher, Sami Puk).

"On the men's side we were a little slow out of the gate", Parsons said. "We talked during the first break and the guys really picked things up from there. Adam Gannon swam well in the 100 free (47.04). Matt Koken had a nice swim in the 500 free, an event he normally does not swim. We finished the meet with a strong showing in the 400 Free Relay. We are walking away with some positives on the men's side.

"It was definitely good to see conference foes on both sides.  I think it will help us moving forward into the final part of our season," Parsons said.

"It was a good weekend for Jen Anklan," UND head diving coach Brian Strom said of his divers after day two. "Our divers are beat up after three events in two days.  We will rest and get ready for next weekend."

Anklan was the top UND diver from the platform, scoring 160.45 for a fourth-place finish.

Rick Eberle-- one day after setting the UND record from the 1-meter board-- took fourth from the platform (256.05) while Clayton Metcalf was sixth (237.70).

North Dakota will travel to Minneapolis to face Minnesota on Friday then will head to Vermillion, S.D. Saturday for a meet against the host Coyotes of South Dakota.
