GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- University of North Dakota head swimming coach Steve Parsons announced his signees from the most recent signing period. Parsons welcomes four additions-- Noah Lucas, McKenna Pasquale, Allison Schwab and Nicole Stevens-- to the squad for the 2013-14 campaign. All four prepped at Minnesota high schools.

"Overall, we have four great additions to the UND swimming and diving teams," Parsons said of the class. "We are looking for all four to have an impact next fall and over the next four years. They all have great personalities and will bring a lot to the university community too!"

Lucas was the 2011-12 Minnesota Class AA Athlete of the Year after winning the 500 free and 200 free at the state meet. The two-time All American captained his Mounds View High School squad in his senior campaign.

"Noah is just a great addition to men’s team," Parsons said. "We feel fortunate to land a swimmer with Noah’s talent and ability. We are looking for Noah to have a big impact early and often next year and with his ability he will have an impact at the conference meet too."

Pasquale is a Mendota Heights, Minn. native and sprint freestyler and breaststroker.

"McKenna is another nice pick-up from Minnesota for us," Parsons said. "She has impressed me with her love of the sport and her desire to improve! The coaching staff and I are excited about the possibilities she has in the breaststroke events."

A five-year letterwinner for Elk River High School in Elk River, Minn., Schwab was a five-time all-conference selection and a seven-time section champion. She holds 3 school records (100 breaststroke, 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay) and was a five-time State qualifier.

"Allison is a good pick up for us that we expect to add depth to our sprint freestyle events and sprint breaststrokes," Parsons noted. "Allison really impressed the coaching staff when she came in for her visit. If she develops like we think she could be a major force for years to come!"

An accomplished breaststroker, Stevens hails from Edina, Minn. She finished eighth in a deep 100 breaststroke event at the Minnesota State Class AA meet, touching in 1:05.59.

"Nicole is a really nice pick up for us," Parsons said. "We feel she has the potential to have a major impact at the conference level and in dual meets. She has a strong kick and that is key for a great breaststroke.  She is one of the top senior breaststrokers from Minnesota so we do feel good about landing her during the early signing period."

The student-athletes will enroll at UND in the fall and will compete in the 2013-14 season.
