CEDAR FALLS, Iowa-- North Dakota took a 173-127 dual win over host Northern Iowa Friday afternoon. The win gave UND's third straight dual victory of the season.

“Although we won the meet, our performances need to be much sharper if we want to continue to work towards our goals," UND head coach Chris Maiello said. "We endured a difficult start and worked hard to get the meet in a position of control.  There were some bright spots for us, however.

"Erin Grabanski had a productive meet with a season best time in the 100 back,  Camille Merwin had a season-best time in the 100 breast and Kelsey Richels did very well swimming the 200 IM for the first time this season.  Season-best times in the 50 free highlighted our sprint efforts with freshmen Alli Schwab and Steph Frey tying for 2nd place with a 25.21.  Rachael Wallbillig dove well on the one-meter board to set the tone for our divers. We need to quickly refocus as we have a big challenge ahead of us tomorrow in the University of Kansas and Nebraska Omaha. I look forward to watching our women get back at it.”

Morgan Lynch easily outdistanced the competition in the 1000 freestyle, winning in 10:42.17. Teammate Ali Church was right behind at 11:01.76 for second place. That duo would turn the same trick in the 500 freestyle with Lynch posting a 5:14.52 time.

UND also went 1-2 in the 200 free with Cassie Walth clocking a 1:58.50 and Steph Frey just .13 seconds behind. Kristin Ainsworth and Grabanski were first-second in the 200 back with Ainsworth's winning time of 2:08.58. Grabanski would win her third event of the afternoon when she clocked a 2:11.23 time in the 200 IM with Merwin and Richels taking second and third, respectively.

The 200 free relay squad closed out the dual with a winning 1:38.81 time.
