DENVER— University of North Dakota senior Morgan Lynch has been named the Western Athletic Conference Female Swimmer of the Week according to a release Wednesday by league officials. It is her first weekly honor this season.

Lynch, a senior from Elk River, Minn. (Elk River HS), helped North Dakota to a 158-142 win at South Dakota State on Saturday.  She began the meet with a second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:29.95.  She then swam the next event and placed third in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.54.  Lynch finished her individual events with a victory in the 500 free in 5:08.29, winning by more than three seconds.

A select few UND swimmers will compete this weekend at the Minnesota Challenge while the team sets its focus on the upcoming WAC Championships, set for Feb. 26 through March 1st in San Antonio, Texas.
