On June 5, 2009, Aaron Schwenzfeier was promoted to full-time strength and conditioning coach after spending the previous three years as an intern coach, working mainly with the Fighting Sioux soccer team and both the men's and women's swimming/diving teams. He also assisted with the football team.

As a full-time staff member, Schwenzfeier has continued with his previous responsibilities, and has added the men's and women's track and field/cross country teams.

A native of Hallock, Minn., Schwenzfeier graduated from the University of North Dakota in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in physical education and was a three-year letterwinner as a running back for the football team from 2000-03.

He is currently pursuing his master's degree in kinesiology at UND.

A certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Schwenzfeier, and his wife, Margo, have a daughter, Eva and a son, Reggie. His brother Joel Schwenzfeier is a former defensive back for the Fighting Sioux.
