OGDEN, Utah – North Dakota wide receiver Greg Hardin was named to the All-Big Sky first team on Tuesday as league officials announced their postseason football awards. Hardin, who received the first team accolade for his play at wide receiver, was also among seven UND players to receive honorable mention honors.

Hardin put together a historic junior season in what was UND’s first as a Big Sky member. The Bellevue, Neb., native led the league in all-purpose yards with 1,668 yards and ranked second in receiving yards with 1,145 (eighth in the FCS). He was also tops in the league with 15 total touchdowns and 14 receiving touchdowns. 

His 333-yard receiving effort against Montana broke the Big Sky single-game record as he finished with five 100-yard receiving games on the season. As a kick returner, he averaged 31.6 yards per return and  ran one back 98 yards for a touchdown in a win over Southern Utah. 

Six UND seniors joined Hardin in earning honorable mention honors for their play during the season. The six players include a trio of offensive linemen, a pair of defensive ends and quarterback Braden Hanson. The left-handed signal caller threw for 1,964 yards in seven appearances, including six starts. He tossed 15 touchdowns and broke the Big Sky single-game record with a 660-yard effort in the 40-34 victory over Montana (second most in FCS history). 

The two defensive representatives were Ross Brenneman and Jay Nelson. The three O-lineman honored were center Ian McGurran, who started all 44 games of his collegiate career, guard Caleb Gillson and tackle Emmett  Lynch.
