Competitors set for third-annual Cookoff Challenge

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota football fans can have their appetites for gridiron action and some of the best foods the Red River Valley has to offer satisfied on Saturday, April 20 at the Alerus Center. North Dakota's Green and White Spring Game will cap a fun-filled day that will feature the third annual North Dakota Tailgate Cook-off Challenge.

The committe for the popular cooking competition announced the competitors for both its Burgers and Ribs Challenge and People's Choice Competition on Monday, so fans will know exaclty what types of food they can look forward to sampling this coming Saturday. Here is a full list for both competitions:

Winners from both contests will be announced at halftime of the Green and White game that is scheduled to kickoff at 2 p.m.

The People’s Choice contest opens at Noon, and voting for that will take place inside the Alerus Center as you enter. There is also a free kid’s clinic featuring UND student-athletes from a number of different UND teams that will start at 12:30 p.m. in the Alerus Center. Registration for the kid’s clinic begins at Noon.

TIME LINE OF EVENTS
6 a.m.           Cook-off Challenge Competitor parking opens (competitors only)
8 a.m.           Parking lots open to all fans, tailgaters welcome
10 a.m.         Ribs, Burgers and People’s Choice food competition check-in begins
Noon             People's Choice fan judging starts, fan activities begin (Live music, 
                     Jr. Champions party, interactive inflatablegames, kid’s clinic registration)
12:30 p.m.           Free kid’s sports clinic begins (ages Kindergarten-8th grade)
1 p.m.           Burgers and Ribs judging begins
1:30 p.m.      All judging completed, Gates open
2 p.m.           Spring Football Game
