GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota's football season ended 10 days ago, but the awards stemming from a Co-Great West Conference championship season are still trickling in.
On Wednesday, head coach Chris Mussman and four players were honored as College Sports Madness staff members announced their All-Great West football team and individual awards.
Mussman, who guided the Sioux to an 8-3 record and a five-game turnaround, collected his third Great West Conference Coach of the Year accolade, whlie running back Jake Miller (Bismarck, N.D.) and wide receiver Greg Hardin (Bellevue, Neb.) each earned their third first-team honors.
Mussman and both players earned similar honors in voting conducted by the GWC's head coaches and media followers.
Honored along with those three were offensive guard Joe Kleason (Eagan, Minn.) and safety/punt returner Erik Mersereau (Port Washington, Wis.). For Kleason, it was his initial first team honor of the season after picking up second-team accolades on the two previous squads.
Mersereau's accolade was his first of the postseason.
