SEDONA, Ariz. - Freshman Abbie Mozzetti paced the North Dakota women's golf team on Saturday in opening round action of the Red Rocks Invitational.
Mozzetti led UND with an opening-round 82 as she was one of three golfers to shoot in the 80's for the Green and White. Sophomore Amanda Fairweather carded an 85 (+13) on the opening 18 holes at the Oak Creek Country Club, while senior Robin Hutchinson was a stroke behind with an 86 (+14).
Cal State-Northridge (303, +15) holds a one-stroke lead on Toledo (304, +16) and fellow Big Sky member Southern Utah (304, +16) in the team standings. The top five in the 21-team field are only separated by five strokes after day one.
UND is currently in 19th after a carding a 347 (+59). The two-day event will conclude on Sunday.
