Primm, Nev. - Freshman Abbie Mozzetti turned in the top two rounds of the day for the University of North Dakota women's golf team as the team wrapped up play at the Jackrabbit Invitational.
Mozzetti carded rounds of 79 (+7) and 78 (+6) on Tuesday as the 12-team field concluded the second round, which was delayed by darkness on Monday and played the entire third round at the Lakes Course at the Primm Valley Golf Club.
Mozzetti moved up 14 spots in the individual standings into a tie for 27th with her two rounds in the 70's. Sophomore Amanda Fairweather finished in a tie for 35th with a 54-hole total of 244 after rounds of 81 (+9) and 85 (+13) on the final day.
Houston Baptist won the team title, rallying past Eastern Washington thanks to a third-round 299 (+11), which was the low team round of the tournament. The Eagles took second and were six strokes off the pace set by the Huskies.
The Green and White finished 12th (340-335-342 = 1017, +153). The 335 (+47) UND turned in after the second round was the team's best round of the tournament and put them in 10th place to start the final round.
UND remains in Las Vegas for another tournament at the end of the week. The Bucknell Bison Challenge begins on Thursday at the Paiute Golf Course.
