LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Senior Megan Grozdanich posted the best round of her collegiate career, carding a 79 (+7) to post the best score for the North Dakota women's golf team in opening round action at the Bison Invitational.

Grozdanich, who is tied for 28th, helped UND record a 330 (+42) in the first 18 holes of the 36-hole event hosted by Bucknell. Sophomore Amanda Fairweather and senior Robin Hutchinson each carded 83's (+11) and are tied for 49th, while freshman Abbie Mozzetti ended up with an 85 (+12) after a nice start to her round.|

"I was so proud of Megan," UND head coach Natalie Martinson said. "She played great today and it was really nice to get that kind of score out of her.  We played well today and showed a lot of improvement from early in the week."

Nova Southeastern leads the team standings after posting a 296 (+8) and has an eight-stroke lead on Old Dominion. Fellow Big Sky newcomer Southern Utah is in third after a 306 (+18). The Green and White are in 12th as only seven strokes only separate them from being in the top 10.

UND will conclude the two-day event on Friday.
