GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota women’s golf coach Natalie Martinson announced that a pair of Minnesota prep golfers will join her program for the 2013-14 season on Wednesday. Dani DelGreco and Alexis Guggisberg both signed National Letters of Intent to play collegiate golf at UND during the open signing period earlier this month.

“These two golfers have shown success on the prep level that I believe will translate to this level,” Martinson said. “We are excited to bring them both into the program and I think they can have an immediate impact for us as freshmen.”

DelGreco enters her senior season at Grand Rapids High School having already earned five letters for head coach Kelly Kirwin. DelGreco’s Grand Rapids squad has participated in the Minnesota State High School Tournament the previous three seasons and she was the section 7AAA runner-up as a junior. DelGreco also captured medalist honors at the 2011 Chaska Invitational.

Guggisberg has also already earned five letters in the high school ranks, doing so at Minnewaska Area High School. In the past four seasons, her high school squad has finished no worse than third at the Minnesota Class AA State Tournament, including taking team titles in 2009 and 2010.

She placed 10th as a junior at the 2012 State Tournament where her team finished as the runner up. Guggisberg also earned All-State honors as a junior after winning both the 3AA Section and Sub-Section Tournaments.

The UND women’s golf team is currently participating in its first season in the Big Sky Conference and will resume tournament play in February.
